October 2026:

As summer winds down and the days get colder. Snow is on the way. Hopefully everyone had a chance to dig in the dirt and get gold. Our claims were a little short on water this year and hopefully next year will be better.

 

Last meeting we had 62 attendees showing up. Large drop from the other months for the year. Complaints were that folks come to the meetings to learn about prospecting and not listen to a good story. Well if you don't learn of the old history of an area then how are you supposed to know if gold has been found there before. In the future if any of the members have complaints . Please address myself with the comments and we will try to resolve the issues. Thank you!!

 

The claims survived all of what mother nature threw at it this year and they are in good condition for next year. All paperwork has been filed and we are finishing up Carrot Top in Nevada. In liue of that, Vicky Green will be taking over the claims position for Ric will be retired from that spot. Starting October. This means the Secretary/Historian spot is open and needs to be filled. The webmaster will be taken over by Dustin Johnson. Mark willing be stepping down as Treasure come this October meeting also. So this position will need to be filled also. One of the requirements will be at least 5 years good standing in the club and also approval from the board. Vicky will stand in till position is filled.

 

Gold bag sales have been up and those who had bought on. Hopefully the gold in them were to everyone's liking. Please let Beau or myself know on the quantity of the bags. Thanks!

 

CHRISTMAS PARTY plans are coming along and if you are planning on attending have please get signed up these next few meetings. Remember party starts a 6PM and runs till 9PM! We are going to have 5 women and children prizes up front this year to give them a nice advantage of winning something nice. The dinner fee is still $10 for all adults. Children 11 and under are free.

 

And finally the lecture will be based on who to call for help when our vehicle becomes compromised when out prospecting. They will get you out and home safe. Lecture by Mark Harshany and associates of "BACKCOUNTRY RECOVERY OPERATIONST" titled "In ALIVE! OUT Alive! Home Safe!"
